Bring bright and bee-friendly flower colour to your wildlife garden with field poppies Papaver rhoeas. We give them to you as young plants so they get growing straight away at the right time of year.
Field poppies give you simple yet elegant red flowers, in the colour range of many beneficial insect species that last for the long summer days of June and July. After flowering your poppies form attractive seed heads, which you can keep in place over autumn and winter or scatter over the ground for the next generation of seedlings next year.
We recommend you position your young plants in the garden in full sun. Poppies grow happily in beds, in pavement cracks and in parts of your garden designated to wildflowers. You only need to part off around a square metre (square yard) of your garden to make a big difference to helping insects and British wildlife.
