Introduce the lovely perennial wildflower fondly called ragged robin into your garden, for lots of spikes of lilac star flowers, very attractive to pretty butterflies like red admirals and painted ladies.
This variety is a dwarf flower reaching around 20cm (8in) in height, so it looks wonderful with other small yet dainty wildflowers like ox-eye daisies and cornflowers. At the same height as other wildflowers insects are more likely to benefit from flower on their flight paths.
We recommend you position your young plants in the garden in full sun in your lawn or in containers to suit you and your outdoor space. Coming back year after year look forward to a continual wildflower effect in summer and keep generations of UK pollinating insects happy.
